"Best British voice of the moment"
Within the first few months, Charlee received a vast amount of attention across the Internet through various social networking sites such as MySpace, YouTube, Facebook and several blogs.
After the initial online success, Charlee was approached by MySpace and Freemantle Media to have his music used as part of their online drama, Freak.
Following that, popular US ringtone website, Phonezoo.com uploaded snippets of 3 of Charlee's songs and that quickly accumulated over 100,000 downloads, making him Phonezoo's first ever featured music artist.
After playing a few select sell-out shows, Charlee turned all his attention to completing writing and working on his debut album. He is currently working with Metrophonic through Brian Rawling, Paul Barry (JLS, James Morrison, Cher, Enrique Iglesias).
Charlee has been approached by various different record labels but he felt that, whilst that was very encouraging, he had a clear vision of what he wanted to achieve and he wanted to shape his musical direction before being signed.
Recently, Charlee has been approached by Skepta and they have written and recorded a song together which is due for single release by Skepta this September.
In June, Charlee will start a UK tour, including some Festivals. To capitalise on the live shows, Charlee is releasing a single through LAB Records. Sugar Rush will be available on iTunes on 19th July.
Sugar Rush has been chosen by Charlee's fans; the original demo posted on YouTube has clocked more than 40,000 views with many more embedded through Charlee's Facebook and more than 50,000 plays on MySpace.
